Ash ponds
Somerset
Ash has 3 lakes, pond 1 being the species lake, ponds 2/3 have smaller range of fish.
We arrived at 8:00 am. Fished pond 1. Set up in peg 9, in a range of 5-6ft and opposite died back lily beds, which we hoped were holding the fish. We spent most of the morning watching kingfishers, with not much happening. We had our first run about 2:00, Jack getting to the rods first, he was in, the fish came in easy, it was only when it was under the rod tip, it started pulling back, hugging the bottom, using its power, it wouldn’t come up. Jack was buzzing when we saw it, it looked massive going over the net cord. When we weighed it, it went 21lb11oz, beating Jacks
previous PB by 1lb5oz. The beam on his face was awesome! We were lucky to have another run later in the afternoon, with me getting in on the action, 17lb6oz common. Both carp caught on a German rig, using Nutor slime Wafters. Got to be our favourite winter bait. Thanks Tor, your awesome as ever
